Chapter 15 - Faces

All the way home, the sun was blasting into my eyes and warming my face. Despite my dark shades, I still had to squint a bit as I drove north through the traffic, but it didn't irritate me like it normally did. Something about today's warmth was pleasing, uplifting. My soul felt freer.

I walked into the building and up the stairs, ready to jump in the shower and get cleaned up before meeting Daltrey for his show. I was looking forward to seeing his work and him. His legs and arms were more muscular and well defined than before, though still not bulky. I couldn't stop thinking about him and his hot ass that curved into his slim waist. I didn't know if it was so much that Daltrey was my type, or that because it was Daltrey I liked everything about him. I caught myself licking my lips as I stepped out of the stairwell at my floor.

"Hey! Martin, hey!" Wendy called, just before the door shut behind me. Against my better judgment, I turned and opened it back up, letting Wendy step out behind me. "Hey. Didn't expect to see you. Aren't you supposed to be with the art-dude this weekend? Hm? The high school sweetie?" she asked with a roll of her eyes. Her eye rolls were nasty and sarcastic, nothing like Daltrey's fun, playful ones. I didn't like Wendy's at all. All the lighthearted feel-goods I'd had left-over from my time with Daltrey disappeared faced with her negativity.

"I'm getting ready to go back. His art show is tonight, so I need to look nice."

"Ohmygod! Let me help you." Her tone completely changed in just that instant and she sounded eager to be supportive of me for once. It reminded me of the first day we met when she'd helped me unpack the kitchen. I figured there was a niceness there somewhere underneath all her selfish jealousy. I didn't think I'd ever get used to her mood swings, though, and wondered how Alec dealt with it.

She followed me down the dark hall and I let her into my apartment. "Sure, I guess. I'm not sure what I'm going to wear or anything."

"M'kay. Get in the shower and I'll pick out some clothes. Then I'll do your hair. It needs a little help."

I didn't pay much attention to her planning, lured into submission by the thought of a hot shower. I jumped in and let the hot water wash over me, trying not to think about Daltrey. The last thing I was going to do was jack off while Wendy was in my room, going through my things. I could almost feel my soul twisting and writhing at the thought of Wendy being in my home.

She was still flipping through my shirts when I stepped into the room with a towel tied around my waist. She had dark jeans and a pair of dark blue Hugo Boss briefs, the bikini cut, tossed on the bed. They were one of my favorite pairs with the label name printed in white across the black band.
